Where We Work
“ Sabir Memorial Foundation (SMF) fund water programs in Toba Tak Sing and its surrounding rural areas. Toba Tek Singh emerged as a separate district in July 1982 after it was detached from Faisalabad district. Situated in the center of Punjab, Toba Tak Singh is surrounded on the North by Jhang and Faisalabad, on the West by Jhang and on the East by Faisalabad. On the South, river Ravi makes a natural boundary and separates it from Sahiwal. The district consists of an area of 3,259 square kilometers“
Why Water?
663 million individuals on the planet live without clean water. That is about 1 of every 10 individuals around the world. The majority live in isolated rural areas and go through hours consistently strolling to gather water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep kids out of school or occupy time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make them sick.
Access to clean water means education, income and health – especially for women and kids.
Clean water makes huge difference.
Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Approximately, 43% of those deaths are children under five years old. Access to clean water and essential sanitation can save around 16,000 lives every week. Clean water helps keep kids in school, especially young girls. Less time collecting water means more time in class.
How do we tackle the water crisis?
Sabir Memorial Foundation (SMF) work with local experts and community members to find the best sustainable solution in each place where we work, whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater. And with every water point we fund, our partners coordinate sanitation and hygiene training, and establish a local Water Committee to help keep water flowing for years to come.

Sabir Memorial Foundation (SMF) invest the money we raise into schools with years of experience to build sustainable, community-owned water projects in Toba Tak Sing. Our team works closely to ensure that every penny is accounted for and then provides reports back to our donors.
